Today I ran the Badminton 10km organised by Relish Running. There was also a 2km fun run, 5km, half marathon and marathon with waves starting from 10.00am around every 10 minutes.
This event was really well organised with the waves clearly marked for collecting your number. There was also a bag drop.
We started on time. The course was very varied terrain with grass to start and a nice little downhill. You then go into a woodland area & run on what I can only describe as broken stones (there’s probably a better word for it)! This was quite tricky but it didn’t last too long. The rest of the course was either in fields, on a tarmac path or through woodland. There was a log to jump over & a couple of cattle grids. The elevation (according to my Strava) was 311ft so not awful but a few gradual hills in there.
The course was extremely well marked out, you couldn’t go wrong and there were signs at every km. There were also marshalls available at several places. There were two drink stations which had electrolytes, coke and water and fruit, sweets and chocolate.
As always with Relish Running, there were loads of snacks at the end including ice pops which were very welcomed on such a hot day!
This was quite a tough 10k with the varied terrain and it was very hot! I would however do it again, it was so well organised and a really beautiful run.
