Bristol Clubs

Alpha Run Club: they meet at the Alpha Bottle Shop in Bedminster every Thursday evening for a 5k. In their words – chilled pace and dog friendly. Check out their Instagram to find out more.

Bristol Run Club: they run every Thursday and Sunday and finish up with coffee and croissants. Meet ups are usually around the city centre. Find them on Instagram for all the info.

Bristol Track Club: they meet on Tuesdays at Whitehall Athletics Track. If you’re all about pushing your pace and hitting fast times across a range of distances, this may be the group for you. Check out their website for full details.

BETR Running Club: social runs around East Bristol that usually end with a coffee or beer. They post details of their meet ups on their Instagram page. (BETR = Bristol East Thirsty Runners)

Clifton Running Club: a running club but with connections into a range of health and fitness activities including HIIT and yoga. They meet multiple times a week and cater for all abilities. Their website has all the details.

Concrete Therapy Running Club: meet every Sunday at 8am. Location changes each week, but usually around east Bristol and into Keynsham. Typically 2x5k loops, all paces catered for. Visit their Instagram.

Emersons Green Running Club: they meet Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at Pomphrey Hill. Find out more on Instagram.

Great Western Runners: based in Redland Green, they run every Wednesday night at 7pm and offer a range of distances. Visit their website.

LHG Run Club: they meet on Tuesdays in Bristol city centre and Thursdays in Old Market. The club is connected to the Left Handed Giant brewery and bar. They draw a HUGE number of runners. Check out their website and Instagram for more info.

Moti Bristol: a run club organised by the running store on Whiteladies Road. They meet at the shop every Wednesday at 6.15pm. Visit their Instagram.

Portishead Running Club: the meet multiple times a week with different runs including interval sessions. Full details are available at their official website.

Queen Square Running Club: based in central Bristol, they run on Monday & Wednesday nights and Friday mornings. They are slightly doughnut-obsessed, which is obviously a good thing! Visit their Instagram.

Ravers2Runners: based in central Bristol. They meet every Wednesday, 6.30pm at the Llandoger Trow pub. Visit their Instagram.

South Bristol Striders: they meet every Sunday morning at Paintworks (not far from Temple Meads). Visit their website or Instagram to find out more. (I’m a big fan of their pink branding!)

Southville Running Club: based in Southville (obviously), they meet at the Southbank Club at 6.15pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Visit their Instagram.

Town & Country Harriers: a trail running club who meet in different locations around the outskirts of Bristol every Thursday evening. Visit their official website for details of their meet ups and their races.

This Mum Runs Bristol: a running group for mums and women. You’ll need to join their Facebook group to get details of their meet ups.

VI Runners Bristol: a group specially set up for visually impaired runners and running guides. They meet every Wednesday at 7pm – location varies. Visit their Facebook group.

Westbury Harriers: a 100-year-old running club! They cater for all ages including juniors from age 8. Visit their (very nice) website for more details of training schedule.

Somerset Clubs

Burnham-on-Sea Harriers: they meet on Tuesday evenings with club members also organising their own social runs throughout the week. The Harriers also put on a few of their own races throughout the year which are very well organised (I’ve done two of them!). Visit their official website to sign up.

Nailsea Running Club: they meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Nailsea and Backwell Rugby Club. Visit their Instagram to find out more.

Run Bath: a running group with the additional option of one-to-one coaching. They meet on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays around Bath with all abilities catered for. Visit their official website to find out more.

Somer Athletic Running Club: all abilities are welcome at this club based in Midsomer Norton. Visit their website for more info.

Gloucestershire Clubs

Cheltenham & County Harriers: a group for more experienced runners looking to hit some fast times (some of their members have sub 15min 5k times!). They meet on Tuesdays and Saturdays. They also offer coaching to kids of all ages. More details available on their official website.

Severn Athletic Club: based in Gloucester, they train on Monday & Wednesday evenings. All abilities are welcome, but the club does compete in cross-country events so could be good for more experienced runners. Visit their website for more details.

Wiltshire Clubs

Corsham Running Club: meeting every Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm at the Springfield Community Campus. All abilities are catered for. Visit their club website.

Malmesbury Jackdaws: meet up every Thursday night at 6.40pm in the Station Yard car park. Most runs have some kind of focus and structure i.e. speed or endurance. Visit their official website for more information.

South Wales Clubs

Chepstow Harriers: they meet every Tuesday and Thursday with a range of different running available. The Harriers also offer coaching, from beginners to more experienced runners. Visit their website for all the information.
